So you’ve probably seen the headlines already, “Trump says Democrats’ message to military is ‘seditious behavior’ punishable by death.”
This was in response to a video posted by Democrat lawmakers urging troops to not follow illegal orders and to obey the constitution in the context that the military is building up for war in Venezuela and has been murdering civilians in boats in Caribbean waters. Very simple statement which is already the law. Our military is required to disobey illegal orders and to uphold our constitution.
And if you think that it’s out of character for Trump to use a word like “sedition”, you’re right. This is coming from Stephen Miller. He posted on twitter that “Democrat lawmakers are now openly calling for insurrection.”
Violent Political Rhetoric
The president calling for the death of political opponents is objectively horrific. It’s a dictator move. Even if his cronies in the DOJ don’t move on this to bring charges, this outburst puts a target on the backs of these lawmakers. This will inevitably lead to credible threats against Democrats from his rabid, and well-armed cult base and might very well lead to more assassinations like the targeted political assassination of Melissa Hortman and her husband(along with the shooting of Sen. Hoffman) in Minnesota earlier this year.

Why This Gives Me Hope
In terms of escalations you can’t really get any higher than calling for the deaths of your political opposition aside from actually jailing and killing your political opponents. Or, perhaps, you start a war to distract your people from their social, economic, and political problems.
That’s what’s happening now. Stephen Miller is flailing. He hasn’t been able to lock down the country like he wanted to by using the military and ICE. They’re facing losses in the courts and the people are rising up en-masse to defend their communities whenever ICE shows up.
Trump hasn’t been able to suppress the Epstein files. Did you see his latest crash-out on Truth Social where he’s trying to act like he wanted the files released all along and instructed Republicans to sign the bill?

In it, Epstein writes to Maxwell: “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump.. [VICTIM] spent hours at my house with him”.
In an email Epstein sent to his own email address in February of 2019, months before he was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges, Epstein cited the name of a victim, which was redacted in the documents, saying the person worked at Mar-a-Lago.
“Trump knew of it. and came to my house many times during that period,” Epstein wrote, adding that the testimony of one of his staff confirmed it.

In a second email exchange released by Democrats, Wolff writes to Epstein in 2015 to notify him that CNN is planning to ask Trump about their relationship, “either on air or in scrum afterwards”.
Epstein responds: “If we were able to craft an answer for him, what do you think it should be?”
Wolff writes: “I think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency. You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt.”
He adds: “Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he’ll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime.”
Playing the “trump” Card
The regime is coming up against the limits of their power. My fear in the first few months was that they would complete the coup and bring down an iron-fist. Jailing political opponents, killing protestors in the streets, using the might of the federal government to smash all dissent.
They have not been able to do that. I believe what we’re seeing now is the regime coming up against the limits of their power. And as this progresses their support in congress, in the senate, in all levels of government and within their own party will fracture.
We will see growing resistance because now people see that the trump regime does not have unlimited power. They see the regime cannot jail their political opponents without due process. The regime cannot black-bag Americans and simply disappear them to El Salvador and they do not have the control over the military to get them to to kill citizens in the streets. The calculus is changing for congress, the senate, judges, federal officers, military leaders, business leaders, and universities. People will find more backbone to stand up to this tyranny as they see the power of the regime falter, and as it falters, more and more people and institutions will fight back.
Every metric says this regime is failing. The economy is floundering. Mass layoffs have been announced across many sectors. The S&P 500 has lost almost 2 trillion in market cap in the last week. Inflation keeps rising. Housing is unaffordable. SNAP, medicaid, and ACA subsidies are being gutted.
The regime is faltering and they’re trying to play the only card they have, which is violence enacted by the executive branch. Execute their political opponents. Kill protestors. Invade Venezuela. But it’s not working, and it’s not going to work.
We’re Not Out of Danger
This doesn’t mean that the country is saved and that we’re out of danger. Far from it. I believe this next year and especially the months around midterms will be extremely dangerous. People like trump and Miller are narcissist bullies. Their entire worldview is one of authority, and obedience. They can’t fathom any other relationship between humans. They don’t understand the idea of empathy and cooperation.
They ascribe to the unitary executive theory because their small, narcissistic minds can’t process the complex interconnected relationships required for human cooperation and thus they believe they can simply wield the brutal power of the state to accomplish their goals through violence. What they’re learning is that the world is much more complex and no, you simply can’t use your violent thugs to scare the world into giving you what you want.
Will they see the error of their ways as the country and government fails? No. They will double down. They will become more violent. This will inevitably lead to their downfall, but it will be a tumultuous road that has the possibility of fracturing the country into balkanized civil war.
We must all continue our efforts and work. No action is too small. No protest is useless. Keep up the pressure.

The reason things like this give me hope, is that for the red hatted microcephalics that follow the cult leader they need to be hit over the head to begin to realize how completely insane their leader really is.
