Israeli settlers attack European diplomats in West Bank
French mayor and archbishop also attacked during violent attempt to stop Palestinians harvesting olives
I’ve been trying to figure out how to make this video all day, we left occupied Palestine three days ago and it’s been really tough to see the videos sent by our Palestinian friends of attack after attack that they’ve endured.
On Saturday a French mayor who was part of a diplomatic delegation in Taybeh was brutally attacked by Israeli terrorists. Just three days before that attack we spoke with Father Bashar in Taybeh inside his Church. He’s a catholic priest, Taybeh is a Christian town with 1,200 Christian Palestinians who live there under occupation, surrounded on all sides by settler terrorists.
Father Bashar told us that European diplomatic missions were coming over the weekend and he was really hopeful that their presence would allow his community to pick their olives in peace. For many residents the annual olive harvest is their only source of income, and this is why settler terrorists are attacking in such force now. They know that if they can disrupt the harvest then they will make it impossible for Palestinian farmers to have the resources to buy the necessities of life like food and fuel.
Let’s be very clear. This is ethnic cleansing. Settler terrorists don’t care if the people they’re attacking are Christian or Muslim. They’ll even attack the few jewish Israeli activists who stand in solidarity with Palestinians. They don’t care.
Father Bashar has been shot at multiple times by settler terrorists, while he’s wearing his priest garb. They don’t care.
Please help spread the word, international media attention is the one thing that helps reduce Israeli terrorist violence. Call your reps, demand that we stop funding this apartheid terrorist state. Put your body on the line and defend the olive harvest.
