ICE shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo around 6:50am in Houston, TX on July 7th. In a statement posted to social media Araujo’s son said that his father had been in the U.S. for 35 years and had his own construction business which provided for his wife and three sons. Araujo was in the process of getting immigration papers - which is not an indictment of Araujo but rather one of our broken immigration system; a system that offers no pathways for legal status to someone who has contributed taxes and labor for 35 years.

ICE gave their same canned speech they give after every ICE shooting, that Araujo “weaponized” his vehicle and that agents “fired in self defense.” I’ll report more as details come to light.
Ruben Ray Martinez
23 year old Ruben Ray Martinez, a U.S. citizen was shot and killed by ICE in March of 2025. His murder was kept under wraps by DHS until a year later. DHS claims that Martinez “intentionally ran over” a federal agent. The bodycam footage clearly shows that Martinez’s vehicle was at a full stop when three shots are fired, and then it slowly rolls forward as Martinez, fatally wounded, let off the brakes. How does a car at a dead stop run over anyone?
Martinez’s passenger reported that no officer had been hit by the vehicle. The HSI agent who murdered Martinez, Jack Stevens, said in a written statement that he saw Martinez looking past officers with clenched hands on the steering wheel and that this was a “pre attack indicator” and that Stevens was afraid of “numerous casualties” and that was what prompted him to shoot Martinez three times through his driver’s side window.
A Texas grand jury did not find probable cause to issue a criminal indictment related to this murder.
Carlos Hernandez
Hernandez was shot 6 times by ICE in Patterson, California. ICE claimed he “weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an officer.” Dashcam footage from a passing motorist disproves this lie and corroborates Hernandez’s account. Hernandez’s attorney said that Hernandez was “adamant” that he was “fired upon before driving away.” “He was trying to get away because he was being shot at … he fled in a panic.”
At 30 seconds pay attention to the black object that flies up from the hood of the reversing car. That object flies up before the car strikes the truck in the back. I think that’s when the agents started shooting at Hernandez - one of the rounds struck a windshield wiper or something on the hood and sent it flying. Which matches with Hernandez’s account that ICE started firing on him while his car was in reverse, before he put it in drive to escape over the median.
Carlitos Ricardo Parias
Parias, a LA based creator who live-streamed breaking news was shot by ICE in October of 2025. It’s likely he landed on ICE’s radar because he’d been covering ICE raids in LA with his news streams. He was shot by an ICE agent in the elbow, the bullet ricocheted and hit a U.S. Marshall in the arm. LA Times got a copy of the bodycam footage and the officer who shot Parias acted surprised.
“Oh,” the officer who opened fire said, sounding surprised. “F—.”
“Who shot?” an agent asked.
“I shot, I shot,” the officer responded.
Parias was accused of “weaponizing” his vehicle and charged with assault. All charges against him were dropped after the bodycam footage was reviewed by a judge. Parias has been in ICE detention since the shooting.
In June NPR reviewed medical records that showed while under ICE custody Parias reported consistent pain and decreased mobility. He’s received no physical therapy, has been in a sling for six months, and received only Motrin, gabapentin, and muscle rub cream for his pain.
Julio Sosa-Celis
In January ICE agent Christian Castro chased two men to their home. Castro attempted to apprehend the men outside their home and after a brief struggle the two men ran inside where four other adults and two children were present. Castro then fired his pistol through the closed front door of the home striking Julio Sosa-Celis in the leg.
“Mr. Castro fired his service weapon at the front door of the home knowing there were people who had just run inside that presented absolutely no threat to him or anyone else,” said Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty.
Castro initially told investigators that he was attacked by three men wielding shovels and brooms and “fearing for his life” fired defensive shots.
Castro was charged with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of filing a false police report and arrested in Texas in May.
Silverio Villegas Gonzales
ICE shot and killed Gonzales in a traffic stop outside of Chicago last September. Gonzales had just dropped his two children off at a nearby elementary school and daycare. DHS claimed that Gonzales “drove his car at law enforcement officers. One of the ICE officers was hit by the car and dragged a significant distance. Fearing for his own life, the officer fired his weapon.”
Surveillance video does not show Gonzales striking either of the two officers.
Bodycam footage captured the moments after Gonzales was murdered captures the agent who killed Gonzales saying “I got dragged a little bit… nothing major.”
Francisco Longoria
In August of 2025 Border Patrol surrounded Longoria’s truck, smashed his window, and fired multiple rounds into passenger side of his truck. Longoria’s teenage son was sitting in the passenger seat.
Several rounds hit the car but thankfully no one was injured. DHS claimed that Longoria “drove his truck at the officers and struck two CBP [Customs and Border Protection] officers with his vehicle,” and that an officer fired his gun “in self-defense.”
Longoria was charged with assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon. His charges were dropped a month later after prosecutors acknowledged there was no legal basis for Border Patrol to stop him and that no officers were injured.
Marimar Martinez
Marimar Martinez was shot five times in Chicago last October by Border Patrol.
She said she was on her way to drop off a clothing donation to her local church when she saw a Border Patrol vehicle and began to tail it in an attempt to warn others around her of their presence in the area.
After following the vehicle for more than 15 minutes, Martinez said the driver — later identified as Border Patrol Agent Charles Exum — swerved into her vehicle before they pulled over near 39th Street and Kedzie Avenue.
Martinez said she stopped briefly then tried to swerve away from the agents and drive past them, but as she did so, she “shrugged” down while seeing Exum exit the SUV with a gun and then heard gunshots.
Martinez told the commission the last thing she remembered was looking down and seeing her hand and arm covered in blood.
New testimony was made public from an anonymous eye-witness at the Illinois Accountability Commission in April. The anonymous eye-witness testified that Exum fired at Martinez without provocation and that the federal agents on scene never appeared to be under any sort of attack.
DHS described Martinez as a “domestic terrorist” who “ambushed” agents and that Exum fired “defensive” shots. DHS claimed that Martinez rammed the Border Patrol vehicle but body cam footage shows Exum swerved to the left to strike Martinez’s vehicle with pistol in hand before he out and shot her five times. After the shooting Exum drove the vehicle which was involved in the shooting 1,000 miles away, to Maine, and had repairs completed to remove the damage from hitting Martinez. Her lawyers argued that this was destruction of evidence and the judge agreed.
Martinez’s charges of assaulting a federal officer were dropped in November. Exum has yet to be charged for his attempted murder, perjury, or destruction of evidence.
Clemente Lara-Hernandez
On Wednesday the 1st of July ICE agents fired at Hernandez’s vehicle. You can see that Hernandez’s vehicle was already well clear of all the agents when the shots were fired and that no agents were ever in the path of the vehicle. Again, ICE claimed that Hernandez “weaponized” his vehicle.
Renee Good and Alex Pretti
And of course there’s Renee Good and Alex Pretti who were murdered by ICE/CBP in Minneapolis in January. The murders were witnessed by dozens of witnesses, caught on multiple videos, yet no one has been charged in these brazen day-light executions.

Reporting like you have been doing this past year+ will be very important later. Thank you for continuing to track these events, and keeping people informed about the reality of what the US federal government is doing.
I heard about Araújo right after it happened and even responded to someone on Substack about it. They always say that somehow the vehicle was turned into a weapon and then video says otherwise. They said Alex Pretti pulled his gun out when he never touched it. I can’t wait for these mother fuckers get the book literally thrown at them and given life. Keep recording these assholes. Justice can’t come fast enough. All those involved all the way up to Stephen Miller!
